Notes Bartlett Nunnally, better known as Bar None, was a soft-spoken, gentle-mannered hombre who looked like a tenderfoot, and therefore seemed to present no threat to the citizens of Twin Buttes, where he had come looking for his friend Ben Godfrey. But you can’t judge a book by its cover, or a man by his appearance. During Bar’s first 24 hours in town, he was involved in more ructions than the law had seen since the law first arrived in Buttes. The deputy sheriff had his hands full just attending to the men Bar had fought and captured. And that was only the beginning of a train of events that eventually led to the solution of a number of problems: old Ben Godfrey’s mysterious disappearance, the rustling of King Savage’s Crown cattle, and the secret of Mirage Valley where, without eating loco weed, men saw things that weren’t there.
